         <p>These papers were all within black spring binders, most with titles on spine.  The
papers have been removed from the binders and placed in folders; order remains the
same as in the original binder.  </p>

         <p>This collection appears to be  "leftover" 
materials that interrelate to the other Sarton collections already cataloged at Houghton. 
Collection was not preliminarily processed until July of 2008.   </p>

below).   Harvard student grades are restricted for 80 years from date of creation. </p>
         <p>This collection is not housed at the Houghton Library but is shelved offsite at the

Houghton Public Services staff to determine what material is offsite and retrieval

      <bioghist>
         <p>Sarton was an historian of science and professor at Harvard University. He
founded and edited Isis, an international review devoted to the history and philosophy
of science; studied Arabic and Islam in the Middle East; and lectured at many
universities in the U.S. and Europe. Sarton was born in Belgium and emigrated to the
U.S. in 1915.  </p>
